Nutrition in mothers and children is the most important part of healing eczema and repairing the gut:
- Remove inflammatory foods (these contribute to the immune reaction)
- Removing top allergen foods (gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, nuts. coconut)
- Removing processed foods, refined sugars, processed meats
- Removing seed oils (vegetable oil, canola oil, sunflower oil, rapeseed oil)
- Removing high histamine foods if unable to tolerate (spinach, eggplant, avocado, strawberries, fermented foods)
- Removing nightshade vegetables if unable to tolerate (tomato, capsicum, potatoes)
- Removing spices if unable to tolerate as it releases histamine in some individuals (cumin, mustard, paprika, chili, pepper)
- Removing citrus (lemons, grapefruit, oranges)
- Removing caffeine
- Adding in animal-based foods (ghee, tallow, duck fat, beef liver, animal organs, meat stocks)
- High focus on consuming ganic grassfed/pasture raised meat
- Increase Omega 3 fatty acids (cod liver oil, sardines, mackerel)
- Increase Zinc and Vitamin A intake (Organ meats, beef liver)
- Take robiotics (look for strains of lactobacillus & bifidobacterium species)
- Consume pomegranate juice (acts as a natural antihistamine)
- High focus on consuming specific fruits (pears, apples, blueberries)
- High focus on consuming specific root vegetables (beets, parsnips, rutabaga)
